Rochester

£22,433.84 (Pro rata) - £11.66 Per hour

19 hours per week

 

Medway Norse is one of the biggest joint ventures within Norse Group, partnering with Medway Council to deliver a growing number of frontline public services to residents, such as transport and cleaning.

 

The role

 

We are looking to recruit a Passenger Assistant in Rochester; The passenger assistant rides in a bus providing aid, control and working with children, young persons and vulnerable adults.

This role would suit someone with a caring background, either professionally or caring for relatives as you will be required to supervise the passengers and deal with their individual needs during the journey.

You will be contracted to work Monday to Friday, up to 19 hours per week, with morning and afternoon shifts.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

- Ensure the of passengers and actively ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed and concerns are raised while respecting passengers’ privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

 

- Work with passengers who may exhibit difficult behaviour and sensitively calm and manage these behaviours and situations and their impact on other passengers.

 

- Handling difficult situations where passengers with complex behavioural issues need to be managed along with ensuring all passengers are securely seated.

 

- Acting as first point of contact with the driver between passengers, parents, carers, and staff.

 

- Inspect and carry out remedial tasks to ensure the vehicle is clean, tidy, litter free and safe for the passengers to embark and remain in the vehicle during transit but reporting vehicle hygiene issues.

 

- Ensure the service is provided in accordance with company standards and objectives.

 

- You will be required to attend mandatory training during half terms to adhere to contracts required.

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

- Has sufficient command of spoken and written English.

 

- Activities meet the ongoing and changing needs of clients and customers.

 

- Experience of working with passengers with complex needs is an advantage.
