Norwich

Up to £33,199.75

37 Hours per week, No weekends

We are looking for a Structural CAD Technician to join the structural team and assist them with the production of technical drawings, in order to communicate structural designs using 2D and 3D tools.

 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Assist the structural team in the efficient and effective delivery of services to clients through multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Proactively communicate regularly and professionally with other design disciplines to coordinate your building information models. Working closely with all design team members, identify and subsequently assist in resolving any potential clashes within the building model.
  • Take responsibility and ownership of your work, ensuring that you understand the principles of the engineer’s design, proactively seeking clarity when necessary.
  • Always quality check and review your work to ensure it is correct prior to passing it to the engineer for a final check.
  • Assist the engineering teams with basic site/property inspection functions and prepare reports in agreed format as required.
  • Although your primary role is structural, you will also be required to provide ad-hoc assistance to other design disciplines, supporting them with the production of technical drawings and modelling support.
  • Assist the BIM Systems Manager with the maintenance and development of Norse BIM standards, practices, content creation and templates.
  • Assist with the deployment, implementation, and consistent use of Norse BIM standards across the multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Assist in delivering design services within available fee, to the required quality and within programme.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
  • Fee earning at 90% and contribute to the achievement of the business plan objectives and targets.
  • Carry out other duties commensurate with your grade as directed by your line manager.
  • Promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high-quality products and service which embrace quality standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar or related role (Essential)
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD & Revit (Essential)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Essential)
  • Experience producing reinforcement detailing drawings and bar bending schedules (Essential)
  • Understanding of Building Structure Technology (Essential)
  • HNC/HND/TIStructE or equivalent in an Architectural, Engineering or Construction related discipline (Desirable)                                                                  
  • Certificate of formal AutoCAD or Revit training (Desirable )         
  • Holds a current CSCS site card or is prepared to Immediately attain (Desirable)
  • Experience with creating Revit families (Desirable)
