Senior Structural Technician 

Exeter 

£28,000 - £42,000 (Dependent on experience) 

37 Hours per week, no weekends

With Offices in Exeter and Ivybridge, South West Norse are dedicated to delivering professional services across a range of property management disciplines including; building surveying, architectural design, M & E engineering, project management and estate management.

We are looking for a new Senior Structural Technician will be responsible for ensuring that drawings are accurate and contain sufficient and buildable information appropriate to the stage of the project. 

Main Responsibilities :

  • Provide guidance and advice as a mentor to colleagues.
  • Carry out surveying work and attend meetings with the clients.
  • Implement best practice at all times within the team.
  • Liaise with relevant parties to ensure the workload and resources are planned and used effectively.
  • Work with the relevant parties in producing drawings and documents for the various stages of projects within the all sectors.
  • Lead the implementation and improvement of structural engineering drawing templates and procedures.
  • Undertake the development of specific details based on the overall parameters defined by members of the team.
  • Liaise with other designers, statutory bodies and clients.
  • Actively participate in the day-to-day prioritising of job related tasks.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
  • Fee earning at 90%, and contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.   
  • Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post, may on occasion require travel to other offices as required.
  • Promote continuous and deliver demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the Norse Way CSR strategy. 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar or related role 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Familiar with construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
