Infinity provides a comprehensive range of services within the fields of asbestos, legionella, mechanical and electrical services, fire compliance services and facilities management nationwide. Our highly skilled, flexible team works closely with those within both the public and private sector, from tier one commercial operators through to local authorities.
We have an excellent opportunity available for an Operations Manager to join the Infinity team in Barnsley on a permanent basis.
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the compliance teams including (but not limited to) Asbestos Surveying, Asbestos Laboratory, Asbestos air monitoring and clearances, Legionella Services, fire risk assessments and consultancy. You will be responsible for ensuring all reactive, PPM and project works are managed efficiently. The operations manager will also have overall responsibility for the accreditations associated with the services listed above and this includes UKAS, UKATA, LCA and BAFE SP205
As the Operations Manager of the team, you will take responsibility for the departmental budget, maximising efficiency through effective use of technology and performance management of the team. Proactively seeking to expand our client base and business and be responsible for identifying any new business opportunities.
Your main duties will consist of:
- Providing a technical lead for services, ensuring all works comply with current legislation as well as working to Norse policies.
- Effectively controlling workloads and resources to ensure motivated, trained, and skilled staff are in post to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Contributing to the preparation of annual budgets, monitoring progress against business plans to ensure that the department attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
- Overseeing all aspects of quality management for each discipline to satisfy accrediting bodies and other governing standards.
- Ensure all accreditations are upheld annually.
- Ensuring all client requirements are achieved and delivered to agreed deadlines, timescales, and the standard of the agreed brief.
- Proactively seeking to expand the client base and business and be responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
Our Successful Candidate:
We are looking for a talented individual that can demonstrate extensive previous Operations Management experience within a similar environment as well as an ambition to develop within a national organisation. We are looking for you to demonstrate:
- HND/HNC or equivalent in a Building related discipline
- BOHS (P402) Building Surveys & Bulk Sampling for Asbestos or equivalent
- BOHS (P403) Air Sampling and Fibre Counting
- BOHS (P404) Clearance Testing
- BOHS (P405) Management of Asbestos in Buildings
- Knowledge of CAR2012, ISO/IEC 17020:2012, ISO/IEC 17025:207 and associated UKAS and HSE guidance
- City & Guilds Management of Legionella risk in buildings (responsible Person)
- Knowledge of BS8580-2 Water quality - Risk assessments.
- Knowledge of ACOP L8 and associated guidance
- Level 3 award in Fire Safety Management or similar
- Knowledge of PAS 79-1:2020 firs risk assessments
- Knowledge of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and associated legislation and guidance
- Experience working on a range of building types for all disciplines
- Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain.
- Familiar with relevant construction, health, and safety legislation
- Full, Clean UK Drivers Licence due to travel requirements of the role.
