Financial Accountant

Up to £56,000 per annum

6 months FTC - 37 hours per week

Norse Groups Support Services Division has an exciting opportunity within our Finance Department for a Financial Accountant to join the team based at our Head Office on Fifers Lane. This role is on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Role:

Reporting into the Head of Financial Accounting, you will be required to assist with monthly and annual financial reporting for the group, playing a key role working with both the wider finance function and the operational business; ensure that accurate and complete information is filed in line with statutory deadlines. Duties will include: 

• Preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with the relevant international and UK accounting standards.
• Assisting with cash-flow forecasting, modelling and monitoring projections for the Norse Group.
• Preparation of the Group finance pack, which is distributed to the business on a monthly basis.
• Preparation of VAT return workings and associated reconciliations.
• Overseeing the preparation of the corporation tax returns in conjunction with external advisors.
• Assisting in the management of the external audit process and liaise with internal auditors where necessary.

Our Successful Candidate:

You will have previous experience within a similar Financial Accountant role within a busy and diverse business, alongside:

• Recognised professional finance / accounting qualification and ongoing membership, including ACCA, ACA or equivalent
• Technical knowledge and experience of applying both IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 101) accounting standards
• Good understanding of tax rules and legislation (particularly in relation to VAT)
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate across senior levels
• Able to effectively manage your workload within a deadline driven environment
