We are looking to recruit an experienced Associate Engineer who will will be responsible for the provision of line management and direction to the Mechanical team, ensuring high quality, design, specification, and management of the full range of mechanical services.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Supervise, direct and manage the Mechanical engineering team including team resource planning, management and monitoring of workload.
  • Input to office resource plan and monitoring of profile and loss on all projects to ensure that projects are run efficiently.
  • Prepare schemes, including use of CAD, produce budget costs, detailed specifications, analyse tenders and supervise installations.
  • Carry out the design and management of all types of mechanical services projects including producing budget estimates, drawings, detailed service specifications, tender documentation and undertaking full contract administration duties on mechanical led projects.
  • Deliver mechanical projects in full in accordance with client’s brief and professional standards.
  • Act as the single point of contact on specific engineering issues across a range of clients.
  • Promote and manage the competitive, efficient and effective delivery of mechanical services installations and energy management services to clients.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
  • Fee earning at 90%, and contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
  • This role requires frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.
  • Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post.

Candidate Requirements: 

  • Professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers and working or prepared to work towards Chartered status
  • Extensive experience in a similar related role
  • HNC/HND in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline
  • Extensive experience in a similar related role
  • Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
  • Familiar with construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
