Apprentice - Building Service Engineer

Salary £24,000

37 hours per week

 

Hamson Barron Smith, who are part of Norse Group operate from a national network of key strategic geographic hubs: London, Haywards Heath, and Norwich. The core services we provide are architecture, surveying, building services, engineering, and strategic development & consultancy.

 

The successful candidate will undertake a formal training programme to learn and gather knowledge of practical skills, business systems and procedures, and experience in applying these in a technical or engineering environment.

 

Following completion of a technical apprenticeship, the individual would typically gain accreditation in the subject area.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gain experiences of business products, product specifications, performance, and applications to improve understanding of performance in core business capabilities.
  • Gain experiences of business processes and the methods, techniques and the way in which business is carried out to understand how the organisation applies its core values to the business environment and gain competitive advantage.
  • Gain insight and understanding of the market and commercial environment, including customers and customer service and the methods for managing and co-ordinating all customer contact and customer service.
  • Gain an understanding of core business systems, e.g. MS Office, Google, time, file sharing, etc to work with the approved architecture and gain access to and file information appropriately
  • Undertake personal training and development, as required, to build own skill, knowledge, and competence in a range of business situations.
  • Ensure exemplary personal timekeeping and administration, ensure that all required records of personal experience are kept fully up to date and accurate.

About the role:

 

Requires secondary education with an orientation towards technical subjects including science and mathematics.

 

The job requires no previous industrial or business experience; the focus of the role is in gathering experience of products and the business environment.

 

The apprentice typically follows a formal programme where the schedule sets out work experiences in several relevant environments either within a business, or within a specific function, for example, engineering, or other technical environments, etc.
