Apprentice Administrator
Newport, South Wales
Starting Salary £13,000
37 Hours per week
Newport Norse, working in partnership with Newport City Council, is a highly successful company based in the city of Newport (South Wales), offering a full range of property and facilities management services to the public and private sectors.
This is an entry level clerical and administrative post requiring no previous office experience. Training is provided on the job and will cover the range of duties and problems faced. Where a problem is outside of training or experience the job holder would be expected to refer the problem to others. Duties may include post room, clerical and administrative or telephone/receptionist tasks. Requires an understanding of the structure of the business and department/unit as it applies to the job.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform a range of clerical and administrative duties involving the production and processing of documents, invoices, transactions, and letters in a timely and professional manner.
- Undertake scanning and photocopying, distribution and dispatch of parcels and letters, filing (physical and electronic) of documents as directed.
- Book meeting rooms, facilities and taxis as required, notifying originator of arrangements, ensure online records and booking systems are updated as required.
- Take phone calls and connect callers to their contact or the contact most relevant to the general nature of their enquiry.
- Maintain and update computer or paper-based telephone and contact lists and ensure that the latest on-line listings are available.
- Maintain a reception area, receive and process guests appropriately and efficiently to maintain and convey a professional image of the business.
